The 35WR5KLFTR from TE Connectivity / NEOHM is a 5 kOhm, 5 W wirewound through-hole resistor from the 35W series. The vitreous enamel coating provides excellent protection against moisture, vibration, and extreme temperatures up to 250 degC. Wirewound construction provides high surge and pulse withstand capability, making it suitable for demanding power applications. The flame-retardant coating ensures safety in high-power circuits. Common applications include power supply bleeder resistors, motor control circuits, and high-voltage dividers.

The 35W series uses a resistance wire wound on a ceramic former and protected by a vitreous enamel coating. The enamel is fused at high temperature (over 800 degC) to form a hard, glassy protective layer that is resistant to moisture, chemicals, and mechanical stress. The wirewound construction provides inherently high energy absorption capability, as the entire wire mass participates in dissipating surge energy. The 250 degC maximum operating temperature is enabled by the high-temperature vitreous enamel and ceramic construction.
