The Nexperia 74HC4067DB is a single-pole 16-throw (SP16T) analog switch suitable for use in analog or digital 16:1 multiplexer/demultiplexer applications. The switch features four digital select inputs (S0, S1, S2, S3), sixteen independent inputs/outputs (Yn), a common input/output (Z), and a digital enable input (E). When E is HIGH, all switches are turned off. The device offers low ON resistance of 80 Ω typical at VCC = 4.5V with RON flatness of 25 Ω. Built-in break-before-make switching prevents signal shorting during channel transitions. The device operates from 2.0 V to 10.0 V and is specified from -40°C to +125°C. ESD protection exceeds 2000V HBM and 1000V CDM.

The 74HC4067DB uses a 4-to-16 decoder controlled by select inputs S0 through S3 to select one of sixteen analog channels. The active LOW enable input (E) controls the switch state. When E is LOW, the decoder activates one of sixteen transmission gates, connecting the selected Yn channel to the common Z terminal with low impedance. When E is HIGH, all transmission gates are off, placing the switch in a high-impedance state. The analog signal path is bidirectional, supporting both multiplexer and demultiplexer operation. The break-before-make mechanism ensures the previously selected channel is fully disconnected before the new channel connects, preventing momentary signal cross-contamination. The CMOS transmission gate architecture provides rail-to-rail signal handling capability.
