The Nexperia 74LVC14APW is a hex inverter with Schmitt-trigger inputs, housed in a TSSOP14 surface-mount package. The device operates over a supply voltage range of 1.2 V to 3.6 V and features overvoltage tolerant inputs that accept voltages up to 5.5 V, enabling use as a translator in mixed 3.3V and 5V environments. The Schmitt-trigger action at all inputs provides unlimited input rise and fall time tolerance, making the circuit highly suitable for noisy signal environments. The device offers ±24 mA output drive capability and complies with JEDEC standards JESD8-7A, JESD8-5A, and JESD8-C/JESD36. ESD protection exceeds 2000V HBM and 1000V CDM. The 74LVC14APW contains six independent inverting Schmitt-trigger gates. Each gate performs the Boolean function Y = NOT A, with Schmitt-trigger input action providing hysteresis between positive-going (VT+) and negative-going (VT-) threshold voltages. This hysteresis eliminates output oscillation and jitter caused by noisy or slowly transitioning input signals. When the input exceeds VT+, the output transitions LOW; when the input falls below VT-, the output returns HIGH. The 5V tolerant inputs allow direct interfacing with 5V logic devices while operating from a 3.3V supply, functioning as a level translator. The CMOS output stage provides ±24 mA drive capability with low static power consumption.
