The AT93C46DN-SH-T is a 1Kbit Microwire Serial EEPROM from Microchip with ORG pin-selectable x8 (128 bytes) or x16 (64 words) data organization. The Microwire-compatible 3-wire interface (CS, SK, DI/DO) provides simple connection to legacy microcontrollers and ASICs. Software data protection prevents accidental writes during power transitions. The compact 8-pin TSSOP package and extended -55°C to +125°C temperature range suit space-constrained and harsh environment applications.

The AT93C46D communicates via Microwire protocol with CS, SK, and DI/DO signals. The ORG pin selects 8-bit (128 x 8) or 16-bit (64 x 16) data organization. All instructions begin with a START bit (1), followed by an opcode (2 bits), an address field, and optional data. Read instructions output data on the DO pin. Write instructions require EWEN to enable writes, then the write command, and EWDS to disable. The DN variant includes a ready/busy status output on DO during write cycles, allowing the host to poll for completion instead of waiting the fixed 5ms timeout.
