The AT93C56B-MAHM-T is a 2Kbit Microwire Serial EEPROM from Microchip with ORG pin-selectable x8 or x16 data organization. The Microwire 3-wire interface provides simple connection to legacy microcontrollers. Software write protection via EWEN/EWDS commands prevents accidental data modification. The military/extended temperature range (-55°C to +125°C) supports demanding aerospace and defense applications. The compact 8-pin TSSOP package suits space-constrained board designs.

The AT93C56B communicates via Microwire protocol using CS (Chip Select), SK (Serial Clock), and DI/DO (Data In/Out, time-multiplexed). The ORG pin selects 8-bit (256 x 8) or 16-bit (128 x 16) organization. All instructions start with a START bit (1), followed by an opcode and address. Write operations require EWEN command first, then the write command, followed by EWDS to disable. The device supports READ, WRITE, ERASE, ERAL (erase all), and WRAL (write all) commands. All erase/write cycles are self-timed within 5ms maximum.
