The CL10B104KB8NNNL is constructed using alternating thin layers of X7R ceramic dielectric (barium titanate based) and nickel inner electrodes. The layers are stacked, pressed, and co-fired into a monolithic ceramic block. The multiple parallel layers provide 100nF capacitance in the compact 0603 volume. When voltage is applied, charge accumulates at the electrode-dielectric interfaces. The X7R ferroelectric dielectric offers high dielectric constant with moderate temperature stability. The Cu/Ni/Sn three-layer termination provides excellent solderability and prevents inner electrode migration.
