The CRCW06031K00JNEA from Vishay Dale is a 1 kOhm thick film chip resistor in the industry-standard CRCW e3 series. The 0603 footprint offers a compact solution for general-purpose resistance needs in automotive and industrial applications. AEC-Q200 qualified, it features a stability of +/-1% after 1000 hours at 70 degC rated power. The pure tin termination over a nickel barrier layer provides excellent solderability and prevents tin whisker formation. RoHS compliant and halogen-free, it is suitable for high-volume automated PCB assembly.
The CRCW series uses thick film resistor technology where a metal glaze paste is screen-printed onto a high-purity alumina substrate and fired at high temperature. The resulting resistive element is laser-trimmed to achieve the target 1 kOhm resistance within +/-5% tolerance. The nickel barrier layer beneath the tin termination prevents copper dissolution during soldering. During operation, the resistor dissipates power as heat through the alumina substrate to the PCB, with the 0603 package rated for 0.1 W continuous power at 70 degC ambient.
