The CRGP2512F12R from TE Connectivity NEOHM is a 12 ohm surface-mount thick film chip resistor in a 2512 (6432 metric) package. Part of the CRGP series, it features pulse-withstanding capability and is qualified to AEC-Q200 for automotive applications. The resistor delivers 2 W power rating at 70 degC ambient with 1% tolerance and +-100 ppm/degC temperature coefficient. The matte tin over nickel termination finish provides excellent solderability and reliability in both wave and reflow soldering processes. The CRGP series is suitable for auto-placement in volume production.

The CRGP2512F12R uses thick film resistor technology where a resistive paste is screen-printed onto an alumina substrate and fired at high temperature to form a stable resistive element. The 2512 package size provides a large enough resistive element area to handle 2 W continuous power dissipation and withstand pulse loads significantly above the continuous rating. The matte tin over nickel barrier layer termination prevents tin whisker growth and provides reliable solder joints. The laser-trimmed resistive element achieves the 1% tolerance specification.
