The onsemi NSR1020MW2T1G is a Schottky barrier diode housed in a compact SOD-323 surface-mount package, offering 20V reverse voltage and 1A continuous forward current capability. The device features an extremely low forward voltage drop of 0.24V (typical at 10 mA), significantly improving efficiency in power management applications. The low Vf makes it ideal as a blocking diode in charging circuits or as part of discrete buck/boost converters, where the Schottky’s low forward drop reduces overall power consumption. The device achieves ESD Class 3B rating (>8 kV HBM) and is available with NSVR prefix for automotive AEC-Q101 qualified applications. With a total capacitance of only 25 pF (typical at 5V), the diode is suitable for high-frequency switching circuits. The NSR1020MW2 is Pb-Free, Halogen Free/BFR Free, and RoHS compliant.

The NSR1020MW2T1G is a Schottky barrier diode, which uses a metal-semiconductor junction rather than a PN junction. When forward-biased, majority carriers (electrons) cross the barrier from the semiconductor to the metal, conducting current with a very low forward voltage drop (0.24V at 10 mA, 0.54V at 1A). The Schottky junction has no minority carrier storage, meaning the diode can switch off almost instantly (no reverse recovery time), making it ideal for high-frequency switching applications. In reverse bias, a small leakage current of 40 µA flows at 15V due to thermionic emission over the barrier. The total capacitance of 25 pF (at 5V, 1 MHz) represents the junction capacitance, which is higher than a comparable PN diode but does not affect switching speed since there is no charge storage. The 200 mW power dissipation rating is limited by the small SOD-323 package thermal resistance.
