The DS28S60Q-N8+ is a DeepCover cryptographic coprocessor from Analog Devices (formerly Maxim Integrated) with ChipDNA physically unclonable function (PUF) technology. The DS28S60Q-N8+ is a DeepCover cryptographic coprocessor from Analog Devices featuring ChipDNA physically unclonable function technology that generates a unique cryptographic key derived from silicon random characteristics. The key never exists in memory or static storage, making it immune to invasive physical attacks. The device supports ECDSA P-256 digital signatures and SHA-256 hashing via an I2C interface for secure authentication of peripherals, consumables, and IoT devices.

The DS28S60 uses ChipDNA PUF technology where the cryptographic key is derived from the random silicon characteristics of each individual device. This key is never stored in nonvolatile memory or registers, making it invisible to invasive attacks that probe the die. When a signature operation is requested, the ChipDNA-derived key is used to generate an ECDSA P-256 signature. The device also performs SHA-256 hash computations and stores certificates for mutual authentication. The I2C interface provides communication with the host controller.
