The 593D107X9010D2TE3 from Vishay is a 100uF 10V solid tantalum chip capacitor in a D case (7343-31) package. Solid tantalum construction provides stable capacitance over time and temperature with no dry-out failure mode. 100uF bulk capacitance with low ESR suits DC-DC converter output filtering and microprocessor power supply decoupling.

The solid tantalum capacitor uses a sintered tantalum anode pellet with manganese dioxide (MnO2) solid electrolyte as the cathode. The dielectric is a thin Ta2O5 layer formed by anodic oxidation. The solid MnO2 electrolyte eliminates the liquid electrolyte drying issue of aluminum capacitors, providing long-term stability. The self-healing property of MnO2 clears local dielectric defects during operation.
