The ADS7868IDBVR is an 8-bit 500KSPS ADC from TI in SOT-23-6. With micro-power consumption of 1.9mW and SPI interface, it is ideal for space-constrained and battery-powered data acquisition applications.

The ADS7868 uses a successive approximation register (SAR) architecture. When CS goes low, the device samples the analog input and performs an 8-bit conversion in one clock cycle per bit. Data is shifted out via the SPI interface. Auto power-down between conversions minimizes average power consumption at lower sample rates.
