The DS90UB925QSQX/NOPB from Texas Instruments is a 25-50MHz FPD-Link III video serializer in a 48-pin WQFN (7x7mm) package, designed for automotive camera and display video transport. The device serializes 24-bit RGB video, 4 control bits, and I2S audio over a single differential pair (STP or coax) with 5-10m cable reach. An embedded bidirectional back-channel supports I2C, SPI, and GPIO pass-through. AEC-Q100 qualified for automotive with -40C to +105C operating range.

The DS90UB925Q receives parallel video data (24-bit RGB, 4 control, I2S audio) and serializes it into a high-speed LVDS/CML bitstream at 7x the pixel clock frequency. The serializer uses DC-balanced encoding to enable AC-coupled cable operation. The embedded back-channel operates during the blanking interval by modulating the link amplitude, allowing the deserializer to send I2C, SPI, and GPIO signals back to the serializer without a separate wire.
