The EP4CE15F23I7N from Intel is a Cyclone IV E FPGA in FBGA-256 (17x17mm) package. 15,408 logic elements for medium-complexity digital designs. 56 M9K embedded memory blocks (504 Kbit total) for FIFOs and RAM. 56 embedded 18×18 multipliers for DSP operations (FIR, FFT). 4 PLLs for clock synthesis and deskew. 349 user I/O maximum. -7 speed grade (fastest I-grade). -40 to 100C industrial temperature range.

The FPGA consists of a grid of Logic Elements (LEs) containing a 4-input LUT, a flip-flop, and carry logic. LEs are grouped into Logic Array Blocks (LABs) connected by a routing network. M9K blocks implement dual-port RAM, ROM, FIFO, or shift registers. Embedded multipliers implement 18×18 signed multiplication in dedicated hardware. PLLs multiply/divide/phase-shift input clocks. Configuration is loaded from external flash (AS mode) or processor (PS mode) at power-up.
