The INA240A3PW from TI is a 200V/V bidirectional current sense amplifier with -4V to +80V common mode range. 5uV offset voltage enables accurate low-current measurement. Enhanced PWM rejection (80dB) suppresses common-mode transients from inverter switching for motor drive current sensing. AEC-Q100 qualified for automotive applications.

The differential input voltage across the shunt resistor is amplified by the fixed 200 V/V gain. The high-impedance inputs are protected for common-mode voltages from -4V to +80V. The internal reference pin sets the zero-current output level (typically mid-supply for bidirectional). Enhanced PWM rejection uses a proprietary sample-and-hold technique to suppress common-mode switching transients from PWM motor drives.
