The R8C/3G extends the R8C family with higher memory density and CAN controller. The M16C-derivative core provides efficient 16-bit processing with single-cycle instruction execution for most instructions. The CAN controller supports CAN 2.0A/B with 32 message buffers. Data flash (8KB) with 1KB erase sectors simulates EEPROM. The on-chip debug (OCD) interface supports real-time debugging. Multiple power-down modes (sleep, deep sleep, standby, stop) minimize current draw.
