The SMM02040E9760BB300 from Vishay is a 976 Ohm precision thin film MELF resistor in an 0204 cylindrical package. Part of the SMM0204 (MMA 0204) professional MELF series, it delivers ultra-tight +/-0.1% tolerance and +/-15 ppm/degC TCR for precision analog applications. The thin film technology provides excellent long-term stability, low noise, and low voltage coefficient. AEC-Q200 qualified with anti-sulfur construction, it is designed for automotive sensor signal conditioning, medical instrumentation, and industrial control applications requiring high precision and reliability.

The SMM0204 MELF resistor uses a sputtered nichrome thin film resistive layer deposited on a high-purity ceramic rod. The film is laser-trimmed to achieve the exact 976 Ohm resistance within +/-0.1% tolerance. The cylindrical MELF package provides a larger resistive element area compared to flat chip resistors, resulting in better pulse handling capability and lower current noise. The anti-sulfur construction uses a silver-free inner electrode system that prevents resistance drift in sulfur-containing environments. The NiCr film exhibits minimal resistance drift over time and temperature.
