The TPS25751D is a highly integrated stand-alone USB Type-C and Power Delivery controller from Texas Instruments, optimized for USB-C PD power applications. USB-IF certified for PD3.1 (TID 10306), it supports up to 100W (20V/5A) in both source and sink directions. The device integrates a PPHV high-voltage bidirectional load switch and a PP_5V source switch, providing complete power path management with robust protection. An integrated I2C controller enables seamless control of TI BQ battery charger ICs (BQ25756, BQ25792, BQ25798), simplifying system design and reducing time to market.

The TPS25751D implements a complete USB-C PD state machine including CC cable detection, plug orientation, Rp/Rd resistor presentation, VCONN supply, and PD policy engine for source and sink roles. The CC PHY handles BMC encoding/decoding of PD messages at 300 kBaud. The PPHV switch provides bidirectional power path switching for 5-20V, 5A operation with integrated OVP, UVLO, reverse-current protection, and current clamping. The PP_5V switch provides 5V source capability at 3A. An internal LDO generates 3.3V and 1.5V rails from VBUS. The I2C controller interface communicates with TI battery chargers for charge profile management, while the I2C target interface allows an optional host MCU to monitor and control the device.
