El TPS54360DDAR de Texas Instruments es un convertidor CC-CC reductor de 60 V y 3,5 A con un MOSFET de lado alto de 92 mΩ integrado en un encapsulado HSOIC PowerPAD de 8 patillas. La frecuencia de conmutación se puede programar entre 100 kHz y 2,5 MHz mediante una única resistencia externa en la patilla RT/CLK, lo que permite a los diseñadores comparar la eficiencia con el tamaño del inductor. El arranque suave interno (1,5 ms a 500 kHz) evita la corriente de irrupción y el sobreimpulso de salida.

Las funciones de protección incluyen un límite de corriente preciso ciclo a ciclo (5,5 A típ.), desconexión térmica (176 °C), protección contra sobretensión de salida y repliegue de frecuencia durante la sobrecarga. El dispositivo sobrevive a pulsos de descarga de carga de automoción de hasta 65 V según ISO 7637.

El encapsulado HSOIC-8 PowerPAD ofrece una baja resistencia térmica entre la unión y la carcasa (3,6°C/W θJCbot) y está preparado para funcionar entre -40°C y 125°C ambiente (150°C en la unión). El PowerPAD debe soldarse al plano de tierra de la placa de circuito impreso para obtener un rendimiento térmico adecuado.

**Etapa de potencia y control en modo corriente:** El TPS54360 integra un MOSFET de canal N de lado alto (92 mΩ) y funciona como un convertidor buck en modo corriente de pico. El amplificador de error compara la tensión de la patilla FB con la referencia interna de 0,8 V e impulsa la patilla COMP. El comparador PWM compara la tensión COMP con la corriente de conmutación detectada para determinar el tiempo de conexión. El control del modo de corriente proporciona rechazo de línea inherente, limitación de corriente ciclo a ciclo y compensación simple de tipo II.

**Cuando la corriente de carga cae por debajo del umbral de omisión de impulsos, el convertidor entra en modo Eco. El MOSFET de lado alto deja de conmutar y la salida desciende hasta que FB cae por debajo de la referencia, momento en el que se emite un único impulso. Esto elimina las pérdidas por conmutación continua y reduce la corriente de reposo a 146 µA. El FET de recarga BOOT garantiza que el condensador de arranque permanezca cargado durante el modo de salto.

**Frecuencia y sincronización:** La frecuencia de conmutación se ajusta mediante una resistencia externa de RT/CLK a GND (200 kΩ = 500 kHz). Un reloj externo en RT/CLK anula el ajuste de la resistencia; el PLL interno se bloquea en 78 µs. El repliegue de frecuencia reduce la frecuencia de conmutación a 1/4 del valor ajustado durante la sobrecorriente, reduciendo el estrés térmico del MOSFET.

**UVLO y activación:** La patilla EN tiene una doble función: si se tira de ella por debajo de 1,2 V, el convertidor se apaga (2 µA Iq), mientras que las resistencias externas establecen un umbral UVLO personalizado. La fuente de corriente de histéresis interna de 3,4 µA crea una histéresis UVLO programable sin una tercera resistencia.

**Protección:** El límite de corriente por ciclo (5,5 A) protege el MOSFET. Apagado térmico a 176°C con histéresis de 12°C. OVP en el pin FB se activa si la salida excede 109% del punto de ajuste. El repliegue de frecuencia se activa en caso de sobrecorriente sostenida.
