The TPS73701DCQR is a 1 A ultra-low-dropout voltage regulator from Texas Instruments with adjustable output and reverse current protection. Packaged in a 6-pin SOT-223 (DCQ), it operates from 2.2 V to 5.5 V input and provides very low dropout voltage with an NMOS pass transistor. The device features reverse current protection that blocks current flow from the output back to the input, and an enable pin for power sequencing control.

The TPS737 is a 1 A low-dropout voltage regulator from Texas Instruments with integrated reverse current protection. This feature blocks current flow from the output back to the input when the input voltage drops below the output voltage, protecting upstream circuitry. The device uses an NMOS pass transistor for very low dropout voltage (160 mV at 1 A) and excellent PSRR (68 dB at 1 kHz). The adjustable version uses an external resistor divider to set the output voltage. The enable pin allows the regulator to be turned off for power sequencing and to reduce quiescent current.

The TPS737 uses an NMOS pass transistor in a feedback-regulated LDO topology. A charge pump generates the gate drive voltage above VIN to fully enhance the NMOS transistor, enabling very low dropout operation. The output voltage is compared against an internal precision reference (1.2 V for adjustable version) by the error amplifier. The reverse current protection circuit monitors the input-output voltage differential and disconnects the pass transistor when VOUT exceeds VIN, preventing reverse current flow. This is critical in battery-backed systems where a hold-up capacitor on the output could backfeed into a failing input supply.
