It features a maximum forward voltage drop of 1.7V at 1A, reverse recovery time of 75ns, and reverse leakage current of 5uA at rated voltage. The FL (folded lead) package design provides enhanced surge current capability and thermal performance compared to standard SMA packages. It operates over the junction temperature range of -65°C to +150°C.

The US1MFL-TP is an ultra-fast recovery rectifier diode rated at 1A and 1000V in an SMA-FL surface mount package. The FL (folded lead) construction provides enhanced thermal dissipation and surge current handling compared to standard SMA packages. With a reverse recovery time of just 75ns, the US1MFL-TP is optimized for high-frequency switching applications including switch-mode power supplies, power factor correction circuits, and freewheeling diode applications where fast recovery is essential for minimizing switching losses.

The US1MFL-TP operates as a unidirectional current switching device. 1) PN Junction Subsystem: A P-N junction formed in high-voltage epitaxial silicon provides rectification with a reverse breakdown voltage of 1000V. 2) Fast Recovery Subsystem: Gold doping or similar lifetime killing techniques reduce the minority carrier storage charge, enabling reverse recovery times as low as 75ns. When the diode switches from forward to reverse bias, stored minority carriers are rapidly recombined, allowing the diode to block reverse voltage quickly. 3) Thermal Subsystem: The SMA-FL package with folded leadframe design provides a low thermal resistance path from the die to the PCB, improving power dissipation capability and surge current tolerance.
