The TMDS361BPAGR is a 3-Gbps three-port HDMI/DVI switch from Texas Instruments, packaged in a 64-pin TQFP (PAG) 10 × 10 mm package. It is a sink-side 3:1 multiplexer that allows up to three DVI or HDMI source ports to be switched to a single display terminal. The device features adaptive equalization on all inputs, supporting cable lengths up to 20 meters at 2.25 Gbps, and is configurable via local I2C or GPIO interface.

The TMDS361B is a three-port digital video interface (DVI) or high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) switch designed for sink-side applications. It allows up to three DVI or HDMI source ports to be switched to a single display terminal with four TMDS channels per port supporting signaling rates up to 3 Gbps for 1080p resolution in 16-bit color depth. The integrated adaptive equalizer automatically compensates for intersymbol interference (ISI) loss of up to 20 dB at 3 Gbps, supporting cable lengths up to 20 meters. The device includes a DDC repeater, TMDS clock-detect circuit for automatic power management, and enhanced ESD protection rated at 10 kV HBM on all source-side pins.

The TMDS361B operates as a 3:1 multiplexer on the sink side of an HDMI/DVI link. When an input port is selected via I2C or GPIO control, the integrated 50-ohm termination resistors on the TMDS clock channel are activated, the clock-detect circuit is enabled, and the DDC repeater is engaged. Upon detecting a valid TMDS clock, the data-line terminations are enabled and the TMDS outputs are activated. The adaptive equalizer on each input automatically adjusts its gain profile to compensate for the frequency-dependent loss of the connected cable, restoring signal integrity before the signal is re-driven to the display. When a port is not selected, terminations are disconnected, receivers are disabled, and the DDC repeater is turned off to minimize power consumption.
