The 0456 025.ER is a very fast-acting surface mount fuse from Littelfuse’s 456 Series (NANO² family), rated at 2.5A. The very fast-acting characteristic provides rapid fault clearing for sensitive semiconductor circuits where even brief overcurrent events can cause permanent damage. It is designed for applications requiring precise, fast overcurrent protection in a compact 2410 surface-mount footprint.

The fuse contains a precisely calibrated fuse element that melts rapidly when the current exceeds the rated value. The very fast-acting (FF) characteristic means the fuse opens in a very short time at overcurrent conditions, minimizing the energy (I²t) delivered to the protected circuit before the fault is cleared. This is critical for protecting semiconductor devices that can be damaged by even brief overcurrent events. After opening, the fuse must be replaced.
