The AT25256B-SSHL-B is a 256Kbit SPI Serial EEPROM from Microchip with 20MHz clock capability and wide 1.8V-5.5V operating range. Supporting SPI modes 0 and 3, it provides fast read throughput. The 64-byte page write buffer, block write protection (1/4, 1/2, or entire array), and dual hardware/software write protection ensure data integrity. The -B suffix denotes tube packaging in 8-pin SOIC, suitable for manual assembly or low-volume production. With 1 million cycle endurance and 100-year data retention, it delivers exceptional reliability.

The AT25256B communicates via standard SPI with CS, SCK, SI, and SO signals supporting modes 0 and 3. Write operations require WREN command, then Page Program with 16-bit address and up to 64 data bytes. Internal high-voltage generation handles erase/write within 5ms. Block write protection is configured via Status Register BP1/BP0 bits, and the WP pin provides hardware protection. Read operations output data sequentially from the addressed location.
