The AT25256B-SSHL-T is a 256Kbit SPI Serial EEPROM from Microchip with 20MHz clock capability and wide 1.8V-5.5V operating range. Supporting both SPI modes 0 and 3, it provides fast read throughput for demanding applications. The 64-byte page write buffer, block write protection (1/4, 1/2, or entire array), and dual hardware/software write protection ensure data integrity. With 1 million cycle endurance and 100-year data retention, it delivers exceptional reliability for automotive and industrial applications.

The AT25256B communicates via standard SPI with CS, SCK, SI, and SO signals. The device supports SPI modes 0 (CPOL=0, CPHA=0) and 3 (CPOL=1, CPHA=1). Write operations require a preceding Write Enable (WREN) command, followed by a Page Program with 16-bit address and up to 64 data bytes. Internal high-voltage generation handles the erase/write cycle within 5ms. Block write protection is configured via the Status Register BP1/BP0 bits, and the WP pin provides hardware protection. Read operations output data sequentially starting from the addressed location.
