The M21148G-16 is a military-grade circular connector from Amphenol, qualified to MIL-DTL-26482 Series 1 specification. The shell size 16 with jam-nut receptacle (G style) provides a robust, environmentally sealed interconnect solution for military and aerospace applications. The threaded coupling mechanism ensures secure, vibration-proof mating, while the IP67 environmental sealing protects against moisture, dust, and fluid immersion. Gold-plated crimp or solder contacts provide reliable electrical performance across thousands of mating cycles.

The connector uses a threaded coupling mechanism where the plug and receptacle are engaged by threading the coupling nut onto the receptacle shell. This provides a secure, positive lock that resists loosening under vibration and shock. The environmental seal is achieved through O-ring and grommet seals that prevent moisture and fluid ingress when the connector is properly mated. Contacts are retained in the dielectric insert by retention clips, and are terminated to wires by crimping or soldering. The aluminum shell provides EMI shielding and mechanical protection.
