The MC34PF8100EPEPR2 is a 12-channel Power Management IC from NXP designed as the primary power management building block for high-performance i.MX 8 and S32V application processors. It integrates 7 high-efficiency buck converters and 4 linear regulators, capable of delivering up to 10 A total output current. OTP memory stores key startup configurations, reducing external components. Regulator parameters are adjustable through a 3.4 MHz I2C interface after startup. The EP OTP variant is pre-configured for i.MX 8QM applications.

The PF8100 PMIC uses a state machine to control power sequencing for the processor. On power-up, the OTP fuse values are loaded into mirror registers to configure regulator voltages, sequencing, and timing. The state machine then executes the power-up sequence according to the OTP configuration. After startup, the I2C interface allows dynamic voltage adjustment for DVFS (Dynamic Voltage and Frequency Scaling). Multi-phase configurations (dual, triple, quad) combine buck regulators for higher current rails. Watchdog timer and voltage monitors provide system supervision.
