The SRU5028A-1R2Y from Bourns is a 1.2µH shielded power inductor in a compact 5x5x2.8mm SMD package. Designed for high-current, high-frequency DC-DC converter applications, it provides approximately 5A RMS current and 6A saturation current with low DCR of approximately 25mΩ. AEC-Q200 qualified for automotive use, the shielded construction minimizes magnetic radiation for EMI-sensitive environments.

The SRU5028A uses a shielded drum core construction where the wirewound coil is wrapped around a cylindrical ferrite core enclosed by a ferrite shield. This configuration concentrates magnetic flux within the shield, reducing external field radiation. The low 1.2µH inductance value is optimized for high-frequency (>1MHz) switching regulators where small inductance supports fast transient response. Saturation current is defined at 30% inductance drop.
