The TJA1041T/CM,118 is an advanced high-speed CAN transceiver from NXP providing an interface between a CAN protocol controller and the physical bus. It supports data rates up to 1 Mbit/s and is fully compliant with the ISO 11898 standard. The device offers excellent EMC performance, very low power consumption in Standby and Sleep modes, and advanced features including local and remote wake-up with source recognition, automatic I/O-level adaptation, listen-only mode, and comprehensive protection and diagnosis functions.

The TJA1041 provides differential transmit capability to the CAN bus and differential receive capability to the CAN controller. In Normal mode, the transceiver operates at full speed. Standby mode keeps the receiver active with very low current consumption, allowing wake-up via bus activity. Sleep mode minimizes current further while maintaining wake-up capability. The I/O levels automatically adapt to the host controller supply voltage. TXD dominant timeout and RXD recessive clamping diagnostics protect against stuck bus conditions.
