The VLP-550-F from Bivar is a rigid LED light pipe that transfers light from a PCB-mounted SMD LED to the front panel. The 3mm round flat-top lens provides uniform light distribution, while the 13.97mm polycarbonate pipe bridges the distance between the LED and the panel surface.

The light pipe uses total internal reflection within the polycarbonate body to guide light from the SMD LED on the PCB to the lens surface at the panel. The press-fit mounting snaps into a PCB hole, positioning the light pipe directly over the LED. The flat-top lens provides wide viewing angle and uniform illumination without hot spots.
