It integrates a USB 3.0 device interface, DL3 compression codec, two DisplayPort++ (dual-mode DP 1.2) interfaces, two HDMI 2.0 interfaces, Gigabit Ethernet, and audio on a single SoC. The -N suffix denotes the Non-HDCP variant. Designed for universal docking stations, it supports dual 4Kp60 or single 5Kp60 displays over USB-A or USB-C connections with full backward compatibility.

The DL-6950-N is a USB 3.0 to Dual 4Kp60/5K Dock SoC from the Synaptics DisplayLink DL-6000 series. It integrates a USB 3.0 device interface, DL3 compression codec, two DisplayPort++ (dual-mode DP 1.2) interfaces, two HDMI 2.0 interfaces, Gigabit Ethernet MAC, and 5.1-channel audio on a single chip. The -N suffix denotes the Non-HDCP variant. Supporting dual 4Kp60 or single 5Kp60 displays over USB-A or USB-C, it is the latest generation universal docking solution for enterprise and consumer markets.

The DL-6950-N receives video data from the host over USB 3.0 (5 Gbps). The on-chip DL3 compression codec encodes the pixel stream with ultra-low latency and bandwidth-adaptive compression. The compressed stream is decoded internally and output to the display interfaces. Two DP++ (dual-mode DisplayPort 1.2) and two HDMI 2.0 outputs are integrated; any two can be active simultaneously. The SoC also integrates a Gigabit Ethernet MAC and 5.1-channel audio controller, all sharing the single USB 3.0 uplink. External DDR3 memory and I2C EEPROM are required for framebuffer and firmware storage. The -N variant omits HDCP content protection circuitry.
