The DSX321G-40.000MHZ-ZD09795 from KDS DAISHINKU is a 40.000 MHz AT-cut quartz crystal unit in an ultra-compact 3.2×1.5×0.6mm surface-mount ceramic package. It provides ±10 ppm frequency tolerance at 25°C and ±20 ppm stability over the -40°C to +125°C automotive temperature range. With 8pF load capacitance and 30Ω max ESR, it is designed for low-power oscillator circuits in automotive MCU, wireless radio, and Ethernet PHY clock generation applications.

The DSX321G uses AT-cut quartz crystal operating in thickness shear mode. The AT-cut provides excellent frequency stability over a wide temperature range with a cubic turnover characteristic. At 40MHz, the crystal vibrates at its fundamental (or 3rd overtone) resonant frequency determined by the quartz blank thickness. The equivalent circuit consists of a series RLC branch (motional arm) in parallel with a shunt capacitance C0. The low 8pF load capacitance is optimized for modern low-power oscillator designs.
