The SS2PH10HM3_A/H from Vishay is a 2A, 100V high-performance Schottky rectifier in an SMA surface-mount package. Featuring low 0.55V typical forward voltage drop at 2A and low 0.5µA typical reverse leakage at 100V, it is optimized for high-efficiency rectification in switching power supplies. As a majority carrier device, the Schottky barrier provides zero reverse recovery time, eliminating switching losses in high-frequency applications.

The SS2PH10 uses a metal-semiconductor (Schottky) junction formed between a metal contact and an N-type silicon epitaxial layer. Unlike PN junction diodes, conduction occurs via majority carriers (electrons) only, eliminating minority carrier storage and reverse recovery charge. This results in essentially zero recovery time and very low forward voltage drop. The tradeoff is higher reverse leakage current compared to PN diodes, but Vishay planar technology minimizes this while maintaining low VF.
