The MC74ACT240DWR2G from onsemi is an octal inverting buffer/line driver with tri-state outputs in SOIC-20 package. ACT family provides 5V operation with TTL-compatible inputs and CMOS-level outputs. +-24mA output drive for heavily loaded buses. Tri-state outputs organized as two 4-bit groups with separate output enables (1OE, 2OE) for flexible bus management. For address bus driving, data bus buffering, and memory interface applications.

Eight inverting buffers organized as two independent 4-bit groups (1A1-4 -> 1Y1-4, 2A1-4 -> 2Y1-4). Each group has its own output enable (active-low). When OE is low, the outputs drive the inverted input data. When OE is high, the outputs are high-impedance for bus sharing. The ACT family combines TTL-compatible input thresholds (VIL=0.8V, VIH=2.0V) with CMOS output drive for interfacing between TTL and CMOS logic families. The inverting function provides address decoding and signal polarity inversion.
