The IR2184PBF operates as a complementary-output half-bridge gate driver with a single control input. The IN pin controls both high-side (HO) and low-side (LO) outputs with complementary switching and built-in dead time. When IN is high, LO is high and HO is low. When IN goes low, after the internal dead time delay, LO turns off and HO turns on. This single-input architecture with internal dead time simplifies half-bridge designs by eliminating the need for external dead time generation. The high-side driver operates from a floating bootstrap supply (VB-VS) capable of 600V offset voltage. The low-side driver operates from the fixed VCC supply. UVLO circuitry on both channels ensures outputs remain low if supply voltage is below the threshold. The device’s outputs feature lower di/dt characteristics for improved noise immunity.
