The IR2184STRPBF is a 600V half-bridge gate driver IC from Infineon Technologies’ EiceDRIVER™ family in a compact SOIC-8N surface-mount package. This device provides 1.9A source and 2.3A sink drive capability for power MOSFETs and IGBTs, with single-input complementary output control and internal dead time for shoot-through protection. Built on Infineon’s proven HVIC latch-immune CMOS technology, the IR2184S delivers excellent noise immunity with dV/dt tolerance and negative transient voltage withstand capability. The 680ns turn-on and 270ns turn-off propagation delays, combined with matched channel timing, make this driver suitable for medium-frequency power conversion applications. The SOIC-8 package offers a compact footprint for space-constrained board designs.

The IR2184STRPBF operates as a complementary-output half-bridge gate driver controlled by a single input. The IN pin determines the state of both outputs: when IN is high, the low-side output (LO) is high and the high-side output (HO) is low; when IN goes low, after the internal dead time, LO goes low and HO goes high. This architecture ensures complementary switching with built-in dead time to prevent shoot-through currents in the power stage. The high-side driver operates from a floating bootstrap supply (VB-VS) that charges through a bootstrap diode when the low-side switch is on. UVLO circuitry monitors both the VCC supply and the bootstrap supply, forcing outputs low if either voltage is below the threshold. The SD pin provides additional shutdown capability.
