The IRS2092STRPBF is a Protected Class D Audio Amplifier Driver (Tape & Reel) from Infineon Technologies (formerly International Rectifier). Built using HVIC Technology, this device combines a high-voltage gate driver with integrated PWM modulator and comprehensive protection features in a compact SOIC-16 Narrow (Tape & Reel) package. When paired with external power MOSFETs, the IRS2092STRPBF forms a complete, high-performance Class D audio amplifier solution.

The IRS2092STRPBF leverages proprietary noise isolation technology that allows the high-current gate drive stage and high-speed low-noise error amplifier to coexist on a single silicon die. The open PWM modulator architecture provides design flexibility for various PWM topology implementations, making it suitable for a wide range of audio power amplifier applications.

The IRS2092STRPBF is a high voltage, high performance Class D audio amplifier driver with integrated PWM modulator and protection from Infineon Technologies. In conjunction with two external MOSFETs and a few external components, a complete Class D audio amplifier with comprehensive protection can be realized. The device features thd+n 0.01%, programmable deadtime, click noise reduction, up to 500w output, making it ideal for home theater systems, powered speaker systems, 500w mono class-d amplifiers. With ±100V (floating rating) floating voltage rating, it can deliver up to 500W of output power.

The IRS2092STRPBF operates as a self-oscillating Class D audio amplifier driver. The analog input section includes an error amplifier that compares the audio input signal with the output feedback, generating an error signal that feeds into a PWM comparator. The PWM modulator converts this analog signal into a high-frequency pulse-width modulated waveform that drives both high-side and low-side gate driver outputs. The integrated protection features include dual over-current protection (OCP) with self-reset, shoot-through protection, and undervoltage lockout (UVLO) for all three bias supplies. The programmable dead-time prevents cross-conduction while optimizing THD performance. The floating architecture allows direct high-side gate drive without requiring an external level shifter.
