The ISO7230C is a triple-channel general-purpose digital isolator from Texas Instruments using capacitive coupling technology to provide galvanic isolation. The device offers 2500V RMS isolation rated per UL 1577 and 4000V PK basic insulation per IEC 60747-17 (VDE 0884-17). With three unidirectional channels, 25 Mbps data rate support, and 25 kV/μs common-mode transient immunity, it is designed for high-speed digital signal isolation in industrial, medical, and power electronics applications. The C suffix indicates performance grade with 25 Mbps data rate and wider temperature range.

The ISO7230C uses capacitive isolation barriers to transmit digital signals across a galvanic isolation boundary. On-chip capacitors formed by thick SiO2 dielectric layers couple high-frequency modulation signals between the primary and secondary sides. The input signal modulates a high-frequency carrier that passes through the isolation capacitor; the receiver on the secondary side demodulates this carrier to reconstruct the original digital signal. This capacitive coupling approach provides excellent common-mode transient immunity (25 kV/μs) because the small coupling capacitance minimizes displacement current through the barrier during transient events. The device operates from independent 3.15V to 5.5V supplies on each side, allowing level translation across the isolation barrier.
