When the input transitions from low to high, the internal circuitry drives the push-pull output stage high, sourcing current to charge the external MOSFET gate capacitance. When the input transitions from high to low, the N-channel output transistor turns on, sinking current to discharge the gate capacitance and turn the MOSFET off rapidly. The push-pull output structure ensures both fast turn-on and turn-off, minimizing switching losses in the power MOSFET. Under-voltage lockout (UVLO) circuitry monitors the VDD supply voltage. If VDD drops below the UVLO threshold (typically 3.5V), both outputs are forced low to prevent the MOSFET from operating in the linear region, which could cause excessive power dissipation and device failure. The UVLO function has hysteresis to prevent chattering at the threshold. The two drivers are completely independent, with separate input pins and separate output pins, allowing them to be used for completely unrelated functions or in complementary configurations for half-bridge and synchronous rectifier applications.
