The 0603B224K500CT is constructed using alternating layers of X7R ceramic dielectric and nickel inner electrodes, co-fired to form a monolithic structure. The 0.22 µF capacitance is achieved by stacking many thin dielectric layers within the 0603 footprint. In decoupling applications, the capacitor provides a low-impedance path for transient currents, effectively suppressing voltage ripple and noise on power supply rails.
