The Zener impedance of 14 Ω (typical) represents the small-signal resistance in the breakdown region, indicating how much the voltage varies with current changes. In the forward direction, it behaves as a standard silicon diode with a forward voltage of approximately 1.1 V at 200 mA. The device dissipates power as heat (P = VZ × IZ), limited to 500 mW at 25°C with derating above this temperature.
