The DA14580-01UNA from Renesas (formerly Dialog Semiconductor) is an ultra-low-power BLE SoC with Cortex-M0 and integrated BLE 4.2 radio. With 1.2µA deep sleep current and 16kB SRAM in a 4x4mm QFN-24, it is the industry’s lowest power BLE chip for coin-cell powered applications.

The DA14580 integrates a Cortex-M0 processor, BLE radio transceiver, and power management in a single chip. The radio handles BLE link layer in hardware, offloading the processor. The power management supports multiple sleep modes with RAM retention. Applications can be stored in one-time-programmable (OTP) memory or external SPI Flash. The chip wakes from deep sleep in milliseconds, enabling aggressive duty cycling for coin-cell operation.
