The Panasonic 6SVPC820M is an 820 microF, 6.3V OS-CON (OS-CONductive polymer) aluminum solid capacitor from the SVPC series. The device uses a conductive polymer electrolyte that achieves ultra-low ESR of 12 mOhm and high ripple current capability of 4.7A. With 820 microF capacitance in a compact 8 x 12mm cylindrical SMD package, it provides excellent bulk energy storage and high-frequency noise suppression for DC-DC converters and VRM applications. The polymer electrolyte maintains stable ESR across the full -55C to 105C operating range — unlike liquid electrolytics whose ESR can increase 10x at low temperatures. The 2000-hour lifetime at 105C ensures reliable long-term operation.

The 6SVPC820M uses a conductive polymer (PEDOT or polypyrrole) as the solid electrolyte, formed on the etched aluminum oxide dielectric. The polymer fills the microscopic tunnels in the etched anode foil, providing a highly conductive path to the cathode foil. This results in 12 mOhm ESR — approximately 10x lower than equivalent liquid electrolytic capacitors. The low ESR directly enables the 4.7A ripple current rating, as self-heating (I squared times R) is minimized. The polymer electrolyte does not evaporate, providing stable ESR over time and temperature. The 6.3V rating requires an oxide layer of approximately 9 nm. The cylindrical SMD package uses a vent structure on the top for safety in case of overvoltage stress.
