The 7W-40.000MAB-T from TXC Corporation is a 40 MHz crystal oscillator (XO) in the industry-standard 7×5 mm surface-mount package. It features tight +-25 ppm frequency stability over the -40 to 85 degC operating temperature range, making it suitable for precision timing applications. The CMOS output provides clean rail-to-rail switching with a maximum supply current of 20 mA. The enable/disable function allows the oscillator output to be tri-stated, which is useful for clock distribution and power management in multi-clock systems. The 3.3 V supply voltage is compatible with most modern logic families.

The 7W-40.000MAB-T uses a quartz crystal resonator as the frequency-determining element in an oscillator circuit. The internal oscillator circuit amplifies and sustains the mechanical vibration of the crystal at its fundamental frequency of 40 MHz. The output stage converts the oscillator signal to a CMOS logic level with fast rise and fall times. The enable/disable pin controls a tri-state buffer at the output; when disabled, the output enters a high-impedance state. The tight +-25 ppm stability is achieved through careful crystal selection and temperature-compensated oscillator design. The hermetically sealed package ensures long-term frequency stability.
