The AT24C256C-MAHL-T from Microchip is a 256Kbit I2C serial EEPROM with 1MHz clock and 1M write cycle endurance. The MAHL-T suffix denotes TSSOP-8 automotive-qualified package. With 1.8-5.5V operation and 100-year data retention, it provides reliable non-volatile storage for automotive and industrial applications.

The AT24C256C uses a 2-wire I2C interface with SDA (data) and SCL (clock) lines. The device address is set by three hardware address pins (A0-A2), allowing up to 8 devices on the same bus. Write operations support 64-byte page writes for efficient data storage. The WP pin protects the upper quadrant of the memory array. Read operations can be sequential, reading the entire memory without resetting the address.
