With 220 nF capacitance, a 300 VAC / 1500 VDC rating, and Y2 safety classification, this metallized polypropylene capacitor is designed for line-to-ground EMI filtering where failure could expose users to electric shock. The self-healing film construction and CSA/UL safety approvals ensure reliable operation in safety-critical AC mains applications.

The B32023A3224M000 uses metallized polypropylene film with self-healing capability. When a voltage transient causes localized dielectric breakdown, the thin metallization around the fault point evaporates, isolating the defect and restoring the capacitor’s function. The Y2 safety classification per IEC 60384-14 ensures the capacitor is designed to fail safely in line-to-ground (bypass) applications, where a short-circuit failure could create a shock hazard. The 1500 VDC withstand voltage provides a significant safety margin above the 300 VAC rated voltage.
