The BCM68572A0KFEBG is a Broadcom XGSPON access main chipset with integrated Wi-Fi 7 capabilities, designed as the core SoC for 10G PON residential gateways. It combines 10-Gigabit symmetric PON (ITU-T G.9807.x) ONU functionality with Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) wireless featuring 2.4 GHz 3×3 and 5 GHz 4×4 radios. Multi-Link Operation (MLO) enables concurrent operation across 5G and 2.4G bands for improved throughput and latency. The chip supports EasyMesh R5 and OpenSync for service provider managed whole-home Wi-Fi deployments.

The BCM68572 integrates an XGSPON ONU MAC/PHY for 10G symmetric fiber access on the WAN side. The Wi-Fi 7 subsystem provides 2.4 GHz 3×3 and 5 GHz 4×4 radios with 802.11be features including MLO, OFDMA, MU-MIMO, and 4096-QAM. The internal CPU handles the network stack, TR-069 management, and routing functions. NAT, QoS, and firewall are implemented in hardware acceleration engines. The PON interface connects to the OLT via fiber, while the Wi-Fi radios and GbE/10G Ethernet ports provide LAN connectivity. MLO allows devices to simultaneously use both Wi-Fi bands for aggregated throughput and seamless roaming.
