The BD48K22G-TR from ROHM is a CMOS voltage detector IC with 2.2V detection threshold in SSOP5 package. The K22 suffix encodes the 2.2V threshold voltage. The device features +/-1% detection voltage accuracy, ultra-low 0.9uA current consumption, and N-channel open-drain output requiring an external pull-up resistor. The built-in hysteresis (3-8% of VDET) prevents output chattering near the threshold. The 100us output delay provides noise immunity against transient voltage dips.

The BD48K22G-TR operates as a precision voltage detector. (1) The input voltage (VDD) is compared against an internal bandgap reference through a resistor divider. When VDD drops below the detection voltage (2.2V), the output transistor turns off, and the open-drain output goes high (via external pull-up) to assert the reset signal. (2) The hysteresis voltage ensures that once the output has switched, VDD must rise by 3-8% above the release voltage before the output returns to its normal state. This prevents oscillation or chattering when VDD hovers near the threshold. (3) The 0.9uA current consumption allows continuous battery monitoring without significant drain. The 100us delay filters out brief voltage dips caused by transient loads, preventing false reset events.
