The X7R dielectric provides excellent stability with capacitance variation within ±15% from -55°C to +125°C. The CC0402KRX7R8BB223 uses YAGEO’s multilayer ceramic construction where alternating nickel electrode layers and X7R dielectric ceramic layers are co-fired into a monolithic chip. The 22 nF capacitance results from the cumulative effect of many thin dielectric layers in parallel, each contributing to the total capacitance. The X7R Class II dielectric provides a stable but moderately temperature-dependent capacitance profile. In decoupling applications, the capacitor provides a low-impedance AC path to ground for noise signals on power rails, while in filtering applications it works with series resistors or inductors to form low-pass networks that suppress unwanted high-frequency components.
