The CSS1604SU operates as a serial pseudo-SRAM using an internal DRAM array with integrated self-refresh management. In SPI mode, data transfers serially via SI/SIO[0] and SO/SIO[1]. In QPI mode, all four SIO[0:3] lines transfer data simultaneously for 4x bandwidth. The internal refresh controller autonomously refreshes DRAM cells, making the device appear as SRAM to the host. Configurable wrap burst lengths (16/32/64/512) and linear 512-byte burst with page boundary crossing provide flexibility for different access patterns. Programmable output drive strength (50/100/200Ω) allows signal integrity optimization.
